We currently specialise in Maths and English, with all other primary subjects covered, and secondary subjects added as specialist tutors join the team.
Reception Y1 & Y2
Support across the full KS1 curriculum, including
phonics, reading, writing, times tables and maths.
Years 3,4,5 & 6
Targeted support in maths, reading & comprehension, writing and SPaG — tailored to
your child's own school framework (e.g. White Rose Maths, Talk for Writing, VIPERS).
End of Year 6 Assessments
Academic and holistic preparation for the national
curriculum assessments in reading, SPaG and
maths.
Secondary Entrance Exams
Support and preparation for Gloucestershire's 11+
entrance process, tailored to the exam your child is
sitting.
Moving to Secondary School
Preparing for the jump into Year 7 planning for changes ahead and identifying any gaps in key
knowledge.
Years 7,8 & 9
Personalised support through the social, emotional
and academic transition to secondary, across all

GCSE Year 10 & 11
Tailored support across GCSE subjects and exam
boards, plus BTECs and the EBacc pathway.
A Level Year 12 & 13
Bespoke support for most A Level subjects and boards, plus the classroom theory elements of some T Levels.

Personalised support in spoken and written English, for everyday and subject-specific requirements.
Ages & subjects
We work with children from EYFS (Reception) right up to A Level (age 18), with particular specialism in upper Key Stage 2 — ages 7 to 11. Our core focus is Maths and English, alongside all other primary curriculum areas, with secondary subjects added as tutors with the right specialism join the team.
Formats we offer
1:1 In Person
At the student's home or the tutor's home, by agreement between tutor and parents. Currently across Cheltenham and the surrounding area.
Online via Video Call
Available now for families further afield, with plans to expand as Luminate grows beyond Cheltenham.
